One of the oldest national parks in Kenya its heritage dates back to the early Stone Age from about 6000 to 1300 years. In its ancient caves holds early man creative art. The Tsavo is divided into two the east and the west. Tsavo has the largest larva flow known as the Yatta plateau which runs along western boundary of the park above the Athi River. The plateau was formed by Mt Ol Doinyo Sabuk.
Among the beautiful attractions are Lugard falls named after Frederick Lugard an explorer, is a series of white water rapids on the Galana River. Tsavo is also home to a large number of different wild life like aardwolf, yellow baboon, bat, Cape buffalo, Senegal bushbaby. Over 500 bird species have been recorded in the area.
One thing is for certain, a trip to either Tsavo is less than boring from the cave explorations to the game drives inside the park to bird watching, each activity will be fulfilling. Its hotels are above luxurious and relaxing.
