Nairobi – The Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) will hold its 41st Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 5th December 2020 as a private virtual event, hosted by the KATA Board and Secretariat, headquartered in Nairobi.

In light of the risk of the spread of coronavirus and the governments’ regulations/advice about avoiding gatherings, the Board of Directors has decided that the Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held in a way that gives shareholders the greatest possible ability to exercise their voting rights by an online or by proxy. All KATA members are invited to participate in the virtual event by registering through a private zoom link https://rb.gy/wxpl88

This will be the first time KATA is having its AGM entirely virtual. Mr Mohammed Wanyoike noted that this will be one of the most important AGMs for KATA considering the fundamental change in business operations necessitated by the COVID-19 Pandemic. “These are uncertain times and the industry is in the deepest crisis in its history. Travel business was hardest hit by the pandemic and this has forced the industry to undergo drastic changes. The changes are here to stay and we must all find ways to adapt to the new normal. And it is more important than ever for the industry to have this meeting serve as a rallying call of resilience as we find solutions to safely resume travel while building a sustainable future for the industry,” said Mr Wanyoike.
