{"id":5207,"date":"2022-10-03T11:39:41","date_gmt":"2022-10-03T11:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.silverbirdsafari-africa.com\/blog\/air-arabia-to-help-launch-new-low-cost-airline-in-sudan\/"},"modified":"2022-10-03T11:39:41","modified_gmt":"2022-10-03T11:39:41","slug":"air-arabia-to-help-launch-new-low-cost-airline-in-sudan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.silverbirdsafari-africa.com\/blog\/air-arabia-to-help-launch-new-low-cost-airline-in-sudan\/","title":{"rendered":"Air Arabia to help launch new low-cost airline in Sudan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Sudanese conglomerate DAL Group and Emirati Air Arabia form a joint venture to launch a new low-cost airline in Sudan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new air carrier will be called Air Arabia Sudan.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new company will be based in Khartoum International Airport (KRT) in Khartoum, the capital of Sudan.<\/p>\n<p>Air Arabia Sudan will operate a fleet of new Airbus A320 aircraft and will adopt Air Arabia Group\u2019s low-cost business model.<\/p>\n<p>Work on securing the relevant approvals and licenses is scheduled to commence shortly, DAL Group and Air Arabia announced in a statement released on September 22, 2022.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Air Arabia\u2019s footprint in establishing low-cost airlines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Air Arabia has a history of being involved in establishing low-cost carriers. Air Arabia Sudan will be already the fourth airline co-established by the company in the past few years alone.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>In September 2021, Air Arabia Group announced its intention to form a joint venture with Pakistani Lakson Group to launch a new airline in Pakistan. The new low-cost carrier, called&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/28864-Air-Arabia-to-help-launch-Pakistani-low-coster-Fly-Jinnah\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Fly Jinnah<\/a>, is going to be based in Karachi, Pakistan\u2019s largest city, and initially serve domestic destinations within the country, before expanding to include international routes.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>In July 2021, it agreed with the Armenian National Interests Fund (ANIF) to launch&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/28383-armenia-to-launch-low-cost-national-airline-with-air-arabia\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Armenia\u2019s new national, low-cost passenger airline<\/a>&nbsp;based in Yerevan\u2019s Zvartnots International Airport (EVN).&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>In partnership with state-owned Etihad Airways, it launched Air Arabia Abu Dhabi in July 2020. Initially&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/24076-etihad-air-arabia-to-launch-abu-dhabi-s-first-low-cost-carrier\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">announced in October 2019<\/a>, the new airline operated its&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.aerotime.aero\/articles\/25404-etihad-s-new-co-affair-air-arabia-abu-dhabi-starts-operations\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi<\/a>&nbsp;International Airport (AUH) to Alexandria, Egypt on July 14, 2020.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Besides the recent joint ventures, Air Arabia co-established four other airlines in Egypt, Morocco, Jordan and Nepal.
