Rugby Sevens, also known as seven-a-side or VIIs is a variant of rugby union in which teams are made up of seven players, instead of the usual 15, with shorter matches. It is administered by the International Rugby Board (IRB), the body responsible for rugby union worldwide.

The national sevens team in Kenya is currently one of the 12 “core teams” in the IRB Sevens World Series and it has proved its ascendancy through various victories in tournaments. Currently, it lifted its confederations trophy by beating Zimbabwe 24-19 in the finals therefore emerging as the kings of Africa.
In spite of the great competition, they managed to step a notch higher since they saw their mistakes on the first day and worked hard to try and correct them. This was the first time that Africa has held a competition of great magnitude and Kenya will be glad to be a pioneer in such an initiative which puts them on the map as the most powerful Sevens team in the continent in the exception of South Africa.

We the Silverbird travel plus family therefore want to take this chance to congratulate the Safari Sevens team for their hard work and for making Kenya proud as they continue with their venture towards the Safari Rugby world cup. We wish you all the best.
